Discover our top 4 for a seminar in the Basque Country

You probably don’t understand the Basque language, but the Guggenheim Museum, La Concha beach or, of course… the pintxo bars all sound familiar. Beyond the clichés, the Basque Country also has a lot to offer when it comes to organising your events. Here are our top 4 hotels if you are thinking of organising a seminar.

ibis Bilbao Centro - Top 4 para un seminario en País Vasco - MY ALL MEETING

Ibis Bilbao Centro

You’ve heard of the Guggenheim Museum, haven’t you? From the ibis Bilbao Centro it’s just a 10-minute walk away and, in case you didn’t know, the museum has hosted gala dinners with table mapping technology. A good idea to surprise the attendees who are used to (and fed up with) seeing mapping shows on the facades and need a break after so much training!

Bilbao and its surroundings are spectacular and so are its gastronomic options. We recommend that you include a tour in the event programme, stopping at Plaza Nueva and Zubizuri, the place to be in the centre of the city very close to the hotel that you will never forget.

The hotel has two meeting rooms available, 90m² and 45m², which can be used independently or combined to create a single room for up to 95 attendees.

ibis Styles Pamplona - Top 4 para un seminario en País Vasco - MY ALL MEETING

Ibis Styles Pamplona

We know it’s in Navarre and not in the Basque Country, but this hotel makes you want to sit down and work. It has just been refurbished with facilities and decoration that truly transport you to the ancient forests, reservoirs, trails and the greenest landscapes of northern Spain.

Located in a quiet area just 1 minute from Pamplona airport, it offers 60 rooms and a 76m² meeting room (with capacity for up to 50 attendees) for small committee seminars where the objective is very personalised training. As you will need to lighten up the sessions and offer breaks, take advantage of the opportunity and include in the programme a visit to the Parque de los Sentidos, a large botanical garden and tourist attraction in the area, which is just a few minutes walk away.

There is also the historic centre 5km away with a permanent city bus service and a restaurant inside the hotel that changes its menu every season so you can try the best of Navarre.

Mercure Jardines de Albia Bilbao - Top 4 para un seminario en País Vasco - MY ALL MEETING

Mercure Jardines de Albia

Next to the Jardines de Albia and the Bilbao estuary, it will be a good place to stimulate the concentration of the guests surrounded by so much green and so much sea. The hotel has 138 rooms, a spa to relax (even more if necessary), a restaurant and four meeting rooms measuring 115m², 95m², 76m² and 44m² to accommodate up to 130 attendees.

In between training, you can encourage participants to take part in water sports such as kayaking, stroll along the estuary or discover the old town and local shops with the “local discoveries”, a great way to immerse yourself in the culture and gastronomy. Through partnerships with local artisans and suppliers, the hotel team will help you to organise these cultural and gastronomic experiences: the Antonio Martín cod shop, the Leoz umbrella shop and the Gorostiaga hat shop are just some of the “local discoveries” that await you in Bilbao.

Mercure San Sebastián Monte Igueldo - Top 4 para un seminario en País Vasco - MY ALL MEETING

Mercure San Sebastián Monte Igueldo

At the top of the hill that gives it its name and with the Bay of La Concha at its feet, the terrace with swimming pool of the Hotel Mercure San Sebastián Monte Igueldo is linked to the city and, therefore, to all the tourist, leisure and restaurant venues via a century-old funicular railway! The funicular railway is one of the great tourist attractions and, without a doubt, a different kind of transport so that, after the training sessions, your participants can escape to discover the pintxo-based gastronomy and the entire historic centre: the Miramar Palace, the San Telmo museum and more.

Inside the hotel you also have a restaurant, El Torreón, with views of the bay, where you can organise lunch or dinner for up to 250 people. Take advantage of the terrace with swimming pool and its five meeting rooms (387m², 200m², 127m², 93m² and 89m²) and plan your seminar in different parts of the hotel to oxygenate your brains and encourage concentration.
