Once inside, your attendees will find it difficult to leave any of the hotel’s 163 rooms (12 of them suites complete with terrace and breath-taking views across the River Tagus and the entire city), with the same bright and welcoming interior design throughout the hotel. The pieces of contemporary design by emerging artists and recognised Portuguese brands such as Vista Alegre will leave all your attendees open-mouthed and ensure you won’t have to think about additional backdrops for your event.
Five adaptable rooms and other sophisticated spaces for small groups
Rising up from the self-same lobby, a staircase keeps things simple by taking your participants quickly up to the first floor, which is divided up into three rooms (measuring 116m², 90m² and 39m²), two of which feature skylights that charge the ambience with natural energy. Each of these three rooms could hold from 30 to 80 attendees, but if your group is larger, or you need more space, you can combine two or all three to form a single 247m² room for up to 150 participants.
For a coffee break, cocktail party or brainstorming session, what better backdrop could there be than the views out across the avenue afforded by the huge picture windows of the foyer adjoining the meeting rooms, whose sofas invite you to sit back and spend the rest of your life there.
The same views of the avenue can be enjoyed from the hotel’s other two executive rooms, also on the first floor. These measure 24 and 19m², and are perfect for small meetings, being highly personalised, private and tastefully fitted out (they could also be used for hospitality functions).
If you’re looking for a highly intimate space, somewhere special and thoughtfully designed for small groups, you need look no further than the bookshop, an elegant oasis in the lobby, furnished in gilt and blue tones produced by vertical gardens. Why not organise a convivial meeting, presentation or cocktail party in this relaxing spot? And then there’s the small wine cellar of the hotel’s Matiz restaurant, with direct access to the avenue, where delicious Portuguese charcuterie, cheeses and wines can be enjoyed around high tables. This is the way to do business.
An explosion of taste, with terraces where you can touch the clouds
The event concludes by sampling the explosion of taste that is Portuguese cuisine, with a contemporary touch and products of local suppliers, all under the guidance of chef Daniel Schlaipfer at the helm of the Matiz restaurant (with its own pavement terrace right on the avenue). Or, better still, in a specific space set aside for banquets (banqueting room garden). Measuring 191m², with room for 100 diners, its acoustics will make your attendees feel they’re dreaming as they listen to fado music.
