Bicycles and Azulejos
Porto is a delightful city, you’ll feel it before you even get to the hotel. The hotel itself is right by the city centre, next to Batalha square, the National Theatre and Santo Ildefonso church, surrounded by bars and terraced cafés, where you can enjoy a good cup of coffee and a traditional Portuguese Pastel de Nata.
The building is home to almost 100 years of history, but the inside has been redesigned to create a top quality space for guests. The rooms were renovated in 2017 and the entrance, bar and restaurant areas in 2019. Currently there are 147 rooms over 6 floors.
Portugal has strong ties with the cycling world, which is why this creative concept was chosen for the hotel. In addition to decorative elements – with samples of the legendary Yé-Yé bikes and steel sculptures by a local artist- we also have agreements with outside companies for city tours.
Azulejos tiles in white and blue, also add to the hotel’s charms, you’ll find them in both the restaurant and the rooms, depicting several of the city’s buildings and monuments.
Stylish events
On the first floor are our three events rooms: Arrábida, Infante y Luís I. The first two can be joined to create a single rooms (with panelled walls) that can hold up to 100.
The furniture – tables, chairs, armchairs, pouffes, benches – can be rearranged to suit your needs. Although standard set-ups like a horseshoe, rows of tables and chairs or just chairs are available, we wanted to offer a more informal, relaxed workspace that still felt productive.
We have the equipment you need for all kinds of event (meeting, showroom, product presentation etc.).
The three rooms are set behind by a space that’s fitted with a coffee machine for coffee breaks. It can also be used as a work space as the adjacent rooms has glass panelled walls, and the doors can be left open. These same walls are there to aid creativity and can be used to write or draw ideas on.
The three spaces can be used all together or individually.

The hotel aims to be a meeting point, not just for hotel guests but also for anyone visiting Porto. We have created a programme that connects us to the city with workshops where you can learn to make a delicious Porto Gin, routes to follow that take you to the hotel staff’s favourite places, menus crafted with 100% local ingredients, live music and amazing views from the rooftop.
The hotel restaurant has incredible views, but they’re even better from the 6th floor, where you’ll find the newly opened terrace. It used to be part of a suite for private use only. With the idea of increasing our offerings, the terrace will reopen at the end of the month and work is planned to add a bar and serve delicious cocktails.
For now, the hotel doesn’t have a gym or spa, but they are planned for the first floor (next to the event rooms) later in the year.
