All regions of France are also accessible by train, while the LGV Sud Europe Atlantique high-speed line, which will enter service in 2017, puts Poitiers just 30 minutes away and Bordeaux two hours away. Tours is also encircled by its ring road, at the centre of a five-branch motorway star with the A10, A28 and A85. As for the Tours-Val de Loire airport, it offers an important regional influence with several international destinations, including London, Marrakech and Porto.

More original, a few kilometres from Tours, the small picturesque village of Bourré is home to the Cave des Roches. The only mushroom farm in the world open to tourism where you can (re)discover all the varieties of mushrooms grown in a natural atmosphere, some of which account for more than half of the world's production. A farm with 120 km of galleries spread over 7 floors. An exceptional pantry, well known to the great gastronomic and starred restaurants of the region who come here to hand-pick top-of-the-range mushrooms with an exceptional flavour.

 

Another possibility, still in Bourré, the Underground City. An old tuffeau quarry from which were extracted the stones that were used to build Renaissance jewels such as the castles of Chambord, Cheverny and Chenonceaux. Nearly 1 500 m2 of frescoes carved in the mass at the bottom and high reliefs testify in an unalterable way to the spirit of the village in the 19th century.
