Potel & Chabot, Paris Society, VeryChic or Orient Express, the Accor group struck hard in 2017 to strengthen its presence in the luxury market, in the organization of tailor-made prestigious receptions or in the design of exceptional private sales offers.

Accor and Rixos Hotels & Resorts announce strategic partnership

The two entities announced on March 6 the signing of this partnership, which illustrates Accor's desire to strengthen its presence in the luxury and very high-end market, with a focus on developing the resort segment internationally. In a long-term joint venture, the two partners intend to collaborate, develop and jointly manage Rixos branded resorts and hotels around the world. Upon completion of the transaction, Accor will own a 50% stake in the new structure. The Rixos portfolio includes must-see locations such as Rixos Premium Belek in Turkey and Rixos Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt.

The management of Potel & Chabot, Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners and Accor entered into exclusive negotiations on March 17 with the shareholders of the Potel & Chabot Group to acquire the entire share capital of the Group. Founded in 1820, the Potel & Chabot Group, which generates revenues of more than €100 million, has unrivalled expertise in the organization of tailor-made prestigious receptions. Through its two brands, the group has become over the years the reference player in the luxury (Potel & Chabot) and premium (Saint Clair le Traiteur) segments.

Accor acquires VeryChic, a European leader in private sales of luxury and high-end hotels and stays

Accor has announced the acquisition of VeryChic, a digital platform for private sales of hotels and apartments, cruises, stays and luxury packages. Founded in 2011 by Nicolas Clair, Hervé Lafont and Charles Decaux, VeryChic gives more than 3,000 luxury and high-end hotel partners the opportunity to optimize their distribution and access new customers through its private sales. Through this transaction, Accor intends to strengthen its expertise in the design of exceptional private sales offers and to accelerate VeryChic's international development to become the world leader in its sector.

Accor acquires Availpro and creates the European leader in digital services for the independent hotel industry

By combining the talents of two companies, Accor will be able to offer its hotel customers an ever wider range of innovative and effective software to improve their visibility and increase their sales on the web. Availpro's customers will also be able to benefit from the digital marketing know-how of Fastbooking's teams (acquired by the group in 2015). Founded in 2001 and leader in France, Availpro is also one of the main European providers of digital solutions, with more than 6,500 client establishments. The consolidation of these two major players has created the European leader in digital services for the independent hotel industry, ranked 3rd worldwide in its sector. With this merger, hoteliers will have access to a set of management tools and support services to optimize their online distribution and increase their revenues.

Accor and FCDE have announced that they have entered into exclusive negotiations with a view to the sale to 100% of FCDE's minority stake in the Paris Society Group.

Accor and the Fonds de Consolidation et de Développement des Entreprises (FCDE) have announced that they have entered into exclusive negotiations with a view to selling 100% FCDE's minority stake in the Paris Society group. Founded in 2008, the Paris Society Group is a key player in the hospitality industry with three core businesses: events, catering and entertainment.
With nearly 800 employees and a collection of exceptional venues in Paris, in the provinces and abroad, the group offers its French and international clients a portfolio of emblematic, high-end venues (Monsieur Bleu, Loulou, Pavillons des Etangs, YOYO, Château de Longchamp, Rasputin, Castel, etc.) and organizes more than 3,000 events every year.

Accor signs agreement to acquire Gekko, a specialist in hotel distribution solutions for business customers

This transaction is part of Accor's strategy to strengthen its leadership across the entire customer journey by enhancing its service offering for business travelers, who represent the Group's main customer segment. With its expertise and cutting-edge technology, Gekko offers search and booking solutions through a connected interface to more than 500,000 hotels worldwide, ranging from economy to luxury. Its turnkey management tools allow business customers to manage their payments online, as well as track and optimize their overall costs.

Accor and the SNCF Group sign a strategic partnership to develop the Orient-Express brand

Through this partnership, Accor intends to strengthen its leadership in the luxury segment by developing a new collection of prestigious hotels under the Orient Express brand. In addition, the seven historic cars, symbols of French Art-Deco, will remain the physical property of the public rail group and will be operated by Orient Express for private trips and events. They will provide an exceptional new setting for the organization of events, which can be carried out in conjunction with the other activities of the Accor group such as Potel & Chabot, Paris Icons and John Paul.

Accor signs agreement to acquire Mantra Group Limited

Accor announced that it has signed an agreement with Mantra Group Limited to acquire 100 % of Mantra's share capital, in an agreement subject to approval by Mantra's shareholders. Mantra is one of Australia's largest hotel distributors and operators, operating 127 properties with over 20,000 hotel, resort and apartment rooms in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Hawaii.
